World War Two with a hint of Christmas @ Town Lane Infants.
The children of year 2 enjoyed a day of fun food with a focus on Word War 2.
The children made fresh bread using the fabulous Walk Mill Flour before making wartime meat balls, mince pies and milkshakes
The scales were an important part to the session as it also supported a numeracy project being piloted at the school.
Once the children had created their war time feast they ate and enjoyed their creations whilst seeing exactly what rationing would have meant during and after World War 2.
Some children even put together meatless meatballs in the true spirit of the imagination shown by those who lived through rationing.
Is Britain's diet healthier now than during World War 2 ? Well Town Lane Infants could tell you!
