Greek Meze & Pizza Fun @ Somerville Primary School.
Many children at Somerville Primary School enjoyed one of the two Fun Food Chef sessions run at their school.
The interactive Greek Meze session proved very popular with the children helping to create great food including, Greek meat balls, tomato & feta salad, tzatziki and Greek pita bread.
They also enjoyed a orange based smoothie and learned how easy it is to make hummus. Even the olives had their share of takers as the children sampled the Greek delights
Other children enjoyed the pizza session using the local Walk Mill flour and Heswall honey. The session included them making pizza from scratch, exploring the science of yeast, making strawberry & banana milk shakes and a fruit & yoghurt granola pots.
Over 60% of the children participating ate and enjoyed something healthy they thought they didn't like as they challenged their taste sensations (from mushrooms to olives and all in between).
