Great Food Great Fun @ Busy Nought To Fives!

The Fun Food Chef visited Busy Nought To Fives on Friday 25th July to support their commitment to educating the children under their care in the fun of helping preparing their food in a healthy way.

The older children enjoyed getting messy whilst preparing their lunch and tea in what was a truly interactive experience.

The children learned the fun of making their own strawberry milkshake to start with, as they whisked it, mixed it, shook it up for me to blitz it! They also enjoyed a fruit smoothie that contained a hidden carrot. You can view this on the Recipe Ideas page.

Next they prepared fresh fish fingers which was served up for lunch with fresh pasta in a tomato and vegetable sauce packed full of goodness. The tomato sauce included courgette, onions, mushrooms, fresh basil, fresh parsley, peppers, garlic and tomatoes. All the children enjoyed this feast.

The children then prepared their home made burgers that would later be babecued by the Fun Food Chef for their tea ( Also available on the Recipe Ideas page) before preparing a summer fresh fruit and yoghurt dessert topped with calcium rich seeds and a little fresh honey.

All the children and staff enjoyed this action packed day that really did ignite the children's passion for fresh food.
