The Fun Food Chef @ Barnston Buddies Holiday Club.

Great food and great fun was delivered to the children attending the Barnston Buddies Holiday Club with a distinctly Italian flavour.

The day started by unearthing potatoes supplied by the Fun Food Chef. All the children enjoyed digging in the dirt and pulling out those little brown treasures. These would be later lightly baked in sprayed olive oil as the freshest, tastiest alternative to chips they had had all day.

All the children started by getting messy and making dough too. The elder children set about making pasta dough whilst the younger children enjoyed making fresh pizza dough.

While the doughs rested and proved, everyone made strawberry milk shakes packed full of flavour and natural goodness and even those who had said they didn't like milk shakes, followed the Fun Food Chef's golden rule of try everything then decide.  They tried them and enjoyed them!

Using the natural freshly made Easi-Yo yoghurt, the children prepared their own fruity yoghurt, flavoured with a little honey and toasted seeds. The seeds were particularly popular with some staff.

When the children returned from a short break the younger group rolled and finished off their pizza and the older group rolling and producing their tagliatelle. This was all then cooked and served up as an Italian feast that they had made themselves. No wonder that the younger children preferred the pizza and the older the pasta. Nothing to do with age but does underline that your most likely to eat what you have made.

A fantastic afternoon was had by all the children, the staff and the Fun Food Chef.
